Boquete, Panama
Previously: the-second-weekend-trip-boquete
A while back Andrea and I decided to buy two groupons to stay at the Boquete Tree Trek resort in Boquete. Included with our stay were two tours: a canopy (also known as zip lining) and a coffee tour. We were both so excited to get out of the heat and the city so we drove up early on Friday morning and back on Sunday afternoon. We had no issue getting to Boquete, but from the town center to the resort was a seven kilometer climb on a very rocky path (saying it was a road would be generous) which so kindly gave us a flat tire. It was quite the adventure but was a welcomed respite. We splurged on a nice restaurant (see below), got very wet on our canopy adventure (it poured) and learned a lot about how coffee is grown and how it is to be enjoyed.
Here are some photos of our weekend in the mountains:

Boquete's climate is perfect for growing coffee and has become popular for its expensive and rare Geisha coffee (one pound is sold from $25 to $100!)
